Dogshadow's lips pulled back in a ferocious snarl, one that would impress anyone paying attention. He had never looked so incredibly enraged, his eyes were tinged with red and while his vision had never been so sharp, everything did have a rather darker shade to it, one he hadn't noticed before and didn't pay much attention to now. His claws unsheathed and sheathed again for the restlessness had him, had set its own pair of claws into him, and he needed another kill. He needed to watch blood spill from another body, he needed to see the fear in another pair of slowly dimming eyes. And, man oh man, did Dogshadow want Barkstar dead. The piece of rotting maggot-filled retching waste wanted his mate. Lilybreeze. And he wasn't getting his paws on her, not a single time. The huge tom didn't bother crouching; he could predict how the battle was going to unfold from the get-go. He had every advantage. Size. Muscle. Weight. Height. Power. Speed. Etc, etc. He could go on and on. Barkstar didn't stand a chance against him.
And he'd been practicing. Every time he'd set his claws into another body, it had been preparation for the moment when he took revenge for the single she-cat he'd killed. Dovesong, whose mate, Flamewhisker, was the whole reason this had been started. Barkstar had been as unfaithful as Flamewhisker and the two were friends. Dogshadow was wreaking his revenge on the whelp who'd gotten this whole thing started in the first place by being unfaithful to Sandswallow. This was the moment he'd been waiting for. He'd avenge all those who had been hurt by unfaithful partners and he'd put Barkstar through the misery he deserved. And it was only an added bonus that Barkstar would suffer incredibly throughout his death. If anyone interrupted, they'd join him in death too. Dogshadow would not be stopped, no matter who got in his way. There was no doubt in his mind that he could destroy the other tom, rip him limb from limb. He was certainly strong enough to do so.
The black and white tom paused, watching Barkstar come racing into the clearing and snarled fiercely, waiting for his opportune moment to strike. This had been coming to the leader and Dogshadow grinned. He was enjoying this immensely. The anger, the adrenaline, the blood that would soon decorate the camp; this was all his drug and the black and white tom couldn't have made this moment any better. Barkstar had barely reached a halt before Dogshadow lunged for him. Teeth were bared in all their ragged, white glory, reaching immediately for Barkstar. They weren't aiming for anything except a piece of him. He wouldn't go for the tom's throat yet, if he made a killing blow, it'd be to the belly. That would be the most painful and slowest death he could inflict and it'd give him plenty of time for malicious torture. He could hear Wingedheart snarling at him furiously, shrieking warnings. She was obviously beside herself, but he ignored her. "Wait your turn, deputy!" He roared at her, slashing at Barkstar and waiting for the blood to start falling.
OOC; Ehh.. I guess I thought I'd give them a chance to fight.

Before Barkstar knew it Dogshadow was charging at him. Thinking quickly, the leader dashed to the side, barely avoiding Dogshadow's huge claws. He skidded to a halt and turned around, taking in a glimpse of the warrior... but he could only rest for a moment before Dogshadow rushed at him again. Barkstar once again rushed to the side, however, this time, Dogshadow did not let him off so easy. Just before Barkstar was out of the larger warrior's reach, Dogshadow picked him up by the leg and threw him into a tree, hard.
Barkstar let out a mew of pain as he felt some of his ribs crack and his lungs hack up a good helping of his internal life force. Crimson stained the edges of Barkstar's face as he struggled to get up and look at Dogshadow once again. The pain was unbearable, but he had to ignore it. This warrior... this monster was threatening his Clan. He would rather die then give in to the likes of this piece of filth.
"Dogshadow, why fight your own leader over something so trivial!?" Barkstar roared. "I am the leader of this clan! I will throw my life away to protect this place! Back down now, or suffer the consequence--" but Barkstar was cut off as he hacked up another helping of blood. This warrior.... was powerful. One blow and Barkstar was almost rendered useless...
But he would not give up, even if it cost him his last life...
What kind of warrior would he be if he couldn't even stand up for what he most deeply cherished? No, it wasn't his status as leader that he cared about, but the protection of his clan, of Lilybreeze, and the kits that he wished were his own....
Lilybreeze, I will make you proud, he thought as he let out another defiant hiss towards Dogshadow. I have the heart of a warrior, even if I lack the strength in my current state.
"Heh!" Dogshadow sneered. "You're more pathetic then I thought. I was going to make this a quick death, but I would rather see you squirm. Show you the pain you have caused Sandswallow by being unfaithful to her... and the heat of my fury at you trying to steal away Lilybreeze from me!"
Barkstar struggled to push himself to his feet to no avail. His bones were crushed, and his lungs were filled with blood, making it hard to breathe. He spluttered a few words of defiance at Dogshadow, but nothing but the gurgling of his own life force could be heard. He coughed, crimson liquid splattering the grass and dirt around him. His eyes welled up with tears as the pain hit him head on. Agony, pure agony; that was the experience Barkstar was going through, and not just physically, but emotionally too. He knew he could not defeat Dogshadow, but he did not want to give in and run away. He would rather die then leave the clan he swore to protect before his ancestors.
Protect this place till your death. The sacred warrior code must stay upheld, his mentor's voice echoed in his head. Oh, the days when he was young. How he longed for the strength he'd had as an apprentice right now.
"I- I did always love Lilybreeze, b-but" he started, but was promptly cut off by a figure jumping in front of him... Wingedheart! The next thing Barkstar knew was the sounds of battle as his world turned red and dark.
"I dare you to try and lay one claw on me. It'll be your last move, because I am not going down to Dark-Forest alone!" Wingedheart yowled.
And that was the last the leader of ThunderClan heard before everything faded from him... forever.
OOC: Rose, if you want to kill off Wingedheart and bring Earthpaw into this next, go ahead...

Wingedheart, turned to see Barkstars life fading, this wasn't it was it? She waited, and nothing. He was gone forever. Pain gripped her heart as anger swelled deep inside her, she spun around. Growling fiecly at the larger warrior. Eyes blaring. This was NOT over! Th ginger warrior leapt towards him, spitting in rage. She swiped her claws in a frenzy, knowing or rather hoping that at least one of them would hit him. Before she knew it, blinded by her emotions a claw went right through her throat. She froze, watching fearfully as the blood dripped from it, first drop by drop and then streams. She turned in time to see Earthpaw at the camp entrance. He looked frightened and angry all at the same time. She took a step towards him, but she stumbled. And when she looked up again the handsome tabby was gone out of camp. "It is NOT, over...."
she spat at Dogshadow, blood matted the grass beneith her paws. She took a stance, clearly ready to keep fighting until she couldnt anymore. Her world got dizzy and she found herself floating to the floor. When her head touched the earth, she was out. Her eyes closed, never to open again. Her body went limp and she could feel her soul leaving her body. No...Not yet...please....Earthpaw...Lily? Im sorry. and her thoughts darkened, her body was a former shell of the once strong deputy of ThunderClan. The leader and deputy were side by side, they fought bravely and lost. What would be left of ThunderClan now?[/blockquote][/blockquote][/sub][/color] ((made this one quick))

Dogshadow stood victorious over the two bodies of the former leaders of ThunderClan. He panted, the sides of his face dripping with blood from the clawmarks of Wingedheart and Barkstar. Suddenly, the full weight of what he'd done landed on him. He'd slaughtered these two in front of the whole Clan... but it was worth it. Everything from now on would be safe and honorable under his protection. Yes, he would rise to power as ThunderClan's new leader.
He turned around, his eyes wild with excitement and victory. Sunstorm, the medicine cat, stared out of the nursery in horror, but seemed to already know what was to come. Without a word, the medicine cat slipped into her den, and went to gather herbs for the long journey that she and Dogshadow would have to take to visit StarClan.
Dark days are to follow, Sunstorm thought. But I have hope in our next generation of young Warriors. This will be fixed... right, StarClan?
Meanwhile, Dogshadow yowled for the attention of the Clan. He bounded up the Highledge, his massive form showing grace and power. With his muscles rippling beneath his bloodstained pelt, and his eyes glowing with pride, he spoke to the Clan, "Barkstar and Wingedheart have been rightfully slain!" he started. He paused, wondering how to choose his words next. "I have been watching them cheat you all, lead you into misfortune. StarClan came to me many moons ago and warned me of this day. They told me it was my destiny to seize control of the Clan, and save them from the tyranny that was going to unfold. ThunderClan, I implore you to let me make the journey to The Moonstone tonight and receive my nine lives. Does anyone object to this?"
When nothing but murmurs of unease answered his announcement, Dogshadow dismissed the Clan. Sure, they had doubts, but he would prove to them that he would be the best leader they'd ever seen. Moreso then even the founders of the Clans....
OOC: Okay, i think we can safely say this has come to a close. Time for Dogshadow to become Dogstar.
