Night had washed over the ShadowClan territory. It was dark, the only light coming from the full moon above. There was no sound here in the ashen field, and no sign of life. No trees, no color. Just dark ash and sand. A large black tom slowly padded into the clearing, his gigantic paws making soft thuds in the sand. His neon green eyes glowing brightly in the darkness. He had come here alone tonight, wanting to get away from the noise. Not that there was much going on back at camp, but being leader came with alot of stress. Warriors asking him questions, apprentices bumping into him and looking terrified. He just needed to get away from it all, at least for awhile. The tom's ears rose slightly, he could hear the trickle of a river nearby. He was close to the RiverClan boarder. It wasn't safe for a leader to be alone, near enemy territory. But it seemed quiet over there, real quiet.
He was interested in what must be going on over in another territory. Did they run the same kind of clan that he did? How was the leader over there, did they have plenty of prey? He hissed, why should he be worrying about another clan. It was none of his business. His only priority was ShadowClan, he had to be a good leader. Sighing he raised a large paw and brought it down, flinging a huge pile of ash to the side. He felt angry, and it wasn't good when he was in this state. He just wanted to...destroy something. Anything. Growling he began to swipe at the ash piles, flinging them all over the place, and before he knew it he was in the middle of a cloud of dust. He began to snicker. What was he, a kit? This was no behavior for a leader.
He yawned loudly, his sharp white fangs glinting in the moonlight. It was getting late, he should head back to camp and get some rest. But why not just rest here? No one would miss him. He yawned again, and after going around in a circle a few times he layed down in the soft sand, wrapping his tail over his nose.

Swanfeather Swanfeather sat inside the warriors den, shuffling on her paws like she always did when she had nothing to do. Her light green eyes were soft against the light grey of the evening skies. She sat up slouching slightly out of habit. "Sit up straight!"
her mothers voice snapped in her head and she whimpered in response before sitting up perfectly straight. She bit her lip softly before curling her tail over her paws neatly. Mainly because with that she felt a bit more safe from her mother's constant nagging. Though it was true that her mother was infact deceased her cold words still appeared in her mind and haunted her dreams. She just couldn't get those scornful blue eyes out of her mind. She tried to relax a little letting her body ease just a bit, but not to much. She was already self concoius enough without giving more meaning for her to be. She really didnt want to sraw attention to herself, she was like a shadow. Little of the other cats noticed her and those who did just pasted her by with only a glance or a nod. She wasn't the most social of her clanmates, that was obvious but the few who took the time to know her saw that she wasn't all that bad. Or at least she hoped. Closing her eyes she sighed with such a timid nature she was surprised that she ever became a warrior to begin with. Though that was all thanks to her patient father, whom didnt mind that she was inperfect, unlike her mother. Her lips pressed together at the memory of her apprentice ceremony. Ears flattened slowly to her skull as she opened her eyes, a look of sadness crossed her pretty features. Her mother did not care one bit that she had become an apprentice that day. Not at all, in truth she seemed to be glad to be rid of her, and at the first chance she got she wanted more kits, ones who lived up to her standards. Swanfeather surpressed as sigh as the slender white and silver she-cat curled her tail around tighter as if holding herself. She had no meaning it seemed now a days and yet she still tried to keep on going. Doing what she was told without a word. Suddenly a ray of moonlight came from the den entrance and the female turned her head to it. Getting to her paws she trotted easily towards it, her tail swaying behind her like a ribbon. She poked her head out from the den, her green eyes meeting the light. She allowed a small smile to purse her lips. Giving a soft purr she delightedly walking into the moonlight, taking a seat just outside of camp. Feeling the slow cold air of night seep through her fur she kept quiet. Marveling at it to herself as she pushed all thoughts of her mother out of her mind for the time being. This moment was hers and hers alone and she would grasp onto it for as long as she could. It was as if life was being reborn all over again and everything was bursting with pale new colors. The moonlight carressed her pelt gently making her white fur like fresh snow and the silver strands like swirls through her pelt, wraping gracefully around her legs and tail. Her ears flattened again but this time with pleasure as it showed off her face. Swanfeather slowly got to her paws again and aimlessly walk through the pine forest. Not quiet sure why she was wandering through. Maybe because everything seemed perfect and serene, something she shouldn't waste. Without even realising it she walked out on to the ashen fields. Feeling the sand and dust beneith her paws. Suddenly a low growl caught her earshot and she froze. Glancing over towards the edge of the boarder she noticed dust flying everywhere. When it cleared Warstar was revealed and she bit her lip to hold in a startled gasp. Noticing that he was relaxing she didnt want to bother him and slowly started to walk away. But being Swanfeather she could never go anywhere unnoticed for she got her paws tangled up in themself and with a surprised yowl she set herself flying into the sand. Coughing as it surrounded her she noticed the sand minged in her paws and she sat up trying desperatly to get it off. "Look at you! your filthy! You are not fit to be a she-cat of ShadowClan!" her mothers harsh words in her mind made her flinch.[/sub][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

A few minutes later, and his mind was starting to fade. It felt good, not worrying about anything as your thoughts drifted into blankness. He could feel sleep taking over him, and he was inviting it in like an old friend. He felt comfortable, and most of all calm. Just as his mind was about to shut-down a loud yowl and crash made his bright eyes fly open with shock. A deep growl emitted from his throat as he jumped to his paws. He spun around, his lip curling, revealing sharp white fangs. Whatever enemy had dared to sneak up on him in his sleep would pay.
His eyes turned from anger to confusion in a second. It wasn't an enemy that stood before him, but one of his own warriors. "Swanfeather?" he said softly, taking a step in her direction. She looked scared, and distant, like she was deep in her own thoughts. He wasn't sure what to do. He had never been good with talking to others, it seemed like he always said the wrong thing. Should he console her? Or ask her what she's doing out here? He sighed, letting the fur on his hackles relax as he continued to approach her. His neon eyes were curious as he sat down quietly in front of her, wrapping his tail over his large paws.
"Swanfeather..." he repeated, tilting his head to the side. "Are you okay?" He continued, and gritted his teeth. Why couldn't he just say the right thing and get it over with? He would never understood why he was made leader, it seemed like he wasn't even good for this role, but here he was.

Swanfeather Swanfeather shook her head to clear her thoughts as she pushed herself to her paws. Shaking her whole body to get rid of most of the dirt that rested in her pelt. It al flew off like dust and scattered all around her. She had forgotten about Warstar completly as she lowered her head in shame. What a complete ditz she was, tripping over her own paws for StarClan's sake! Why had her parents given her the name Swan to begin with? She was far from graceful and she didnt think she was very pretty either. The name did not suit her in her opinion. Looking at her still dirty paws she shook them out and used her tail to brsh it off. "Well thats fantastic! Using you tail so that could get dirty?! Why didnt you just wash it off in the river!"
Swanfeather bit her lip, why didnt she think of that? She was a complete failure. "Swanfeather?" Her head shot up in alarm as her light green gaze rested on Warstar. She suddenly felt her cheeks flare with embaressment, there was nothing worse than having someone witness these moments. And of course it had to be the clan leader to see her do it. He probably thought she was a mousebrain, and who knows maybe she was. Her ears flattened as she watched him approach her catiously. She could see the confusion in his eyes as he looked at her. She turned to look at her paws next, she could not keep his gaze for another moment. Her tail curled over her paws quickly as she sat completly still. She almost looked like a statue at this point, she even made her breathing silent. "Swanfeather..." She turned to notice him only a mouse-length away. Without even realising it she flinched and got to her paws. Taking a step back. "Im sorry..." she blurted out and sat back down, putting a fox length between them. She wasn't good around others, that was obvious. She never hand any close contact since her father and he died moons ago. Her light green hues glanced up at him as he tilted his head. "Are you okay?" his words surprised her and her eyes narrowed in confusion. She had fully expected him to be angry with her for distrubing him. Relaxing her gaze she took a breath and nodded. "I...I suppose im alright. I just....tripped." she admitted sheepishly, turning her body towards him a bit. But turned to lowered her gaze again. "Don't be rude, look at your leader!" She snapped her gaze back up at him quickly. Pouting softly as the moonlight danced over her fur. "Im sorry, its rude of me to not look you in the eyes. she mewed her voice calm and a bit nervous sounding. Her ears rose from her head to angle forward a bit, so she could pay more attention to him when he spoke to her. [/sub][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Swanfeather seemed surprised that he was so close. He didn't say anything as she took a step back and put distance between them. He didn't know what was wrong with her, she seemed to be deep in her own mind. Like she was fighting with some invisible monster. He tilted his head, not sure what to say. She had grown very still, almost like a statue. He even strained his ears to make sure she was still breathing. He wasn't sure what to do. It was his job to take care of his clan, but he was never good with these kinds of problems. He could deal with territory battles, and prey problems. But when it came to social things, he had a hard time. But he couldn't just ignore this, he had to do something.
"Im sorry, its rude of me to not look you in the eyes."
Warstar chuckled softly and shook his head. "It's fine Swanfeather, there is no need to apologize." He sighed and stood up. It seemed that his dark figure towered over her and he tried to look kind, not wanting to scare her. Slowly he padded towards her and stopped a mouse-length away. Silently his tail came forward and gently tapped her on the shoulder. "You can be open with me, I won't judge you," he paused, dropping his tail and sitting down. He let the awkward silence pass before he continued. "Now, I know something is wrong. It's my duty as leader...no as your friend, to help you." He let his ears flatten nervously on his head. He wasn't used to talking to others this way. "But Swanfeather, you are going to have to trust me...okay?"

Swanfeather Swanfeather looked up at the tom cat, her green eyes ran over his face for a minute. It seemed that he wasn;t trying to be threatening to her, and so she relaxed just a bit and breathed evenly. Her ears flicking off her head and back in the right upwards position. He came closer again, taking in a breath, she didnt move this time, but flicked her tail over her paws. He seemed to be coming to his in an uneasy but friendly manner and she could tell that he was not used to these problems. Biting her lip she felt bad for disturbing him once again. He had a clan to worry about, he didn't need to waste his time on her. She watched him with calm but curious eyes as she felt him close to her.
"It's fine Swanfeather, there is no need to apologize."
she lookd at him, her nose inches from his, she flushed quickly but regained herself. "I...umm thankyou." she mewed quickly and blinked her light green eyes in surprise, before she turned and looked ahead. "You can be open with me, I won't judge you," She turned back to him, not really believing this, seeing as it might make her look a bit crazy. He'd think she was insane, hearing voices in her head like a mad women. She sighed, closing her eyes and turning away. Her tail curling closer around her tight frame. "Now, I know something is wrong. It's my duty as leader...no as your friend, to help you." Again with the surprises she turned slowly back to him again, her ears flattened. Friend? She didn't know what to say, and so she didnt say anything at all. It would all come out jumbled anyways and would be uncomprehendible. Instead she gave him a soft smile, showing that she appreciated his concern, and in calling her a friend of his. "But Swanfeather, you are going to have to trust me...okay?" She searched his gaze for any signs of false sayings, but he seemed sincere. She nodded slowly. "Ok.... It's just....Do you remember my mother? I guess, even though she has passed on I can still hear her nagging and harsh words in my mind, like shes still talking to me, well rather still disapproving of me..." she confessed softly and looked to her paws for a moment before back up at him. "You probably think im crazy..." she mewed more sheepishly. [/sub][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]
