S P O T T E D P E L T
Light paws padded against the soft earth of ThunderClans camp. The sun was just rising, and the clan began to stir. A small pile of Fresh kill was left by the last hunting patrol. 'not fresh.. but it'll do' the spotted she cat thought calmly. It was Spottedpelt first day with her new apprentice, Swiftpaw. Unlike most new mentors she wanted to show Swiftpaw some Battle moves. She could show her apprentice the borders or how to get moss, but Spottedpelt decited she wanted their first day to be fun and intresting.
Spottedpelt layed down lightly after chosing the yummiest looking prey there was in the pile. She watched as the Dawn patrol gathered to leave, hardly making a noise. She took a large bite of the mouse, it was stringy and slightly old but, for her growling tummy it would do! She quickly finished off her meal then began a quick and easy wash. Spottedpelt spotted one of the apprentices leave the den, streching their long legs. She sniffed the air reconizing that it was olivepaw.
Spottedpelt stood up, the sun up much higher now, and many more cats filled the camp. She padded up to Olivepaw. "Good Morning Olivepaw!" she purred "Sleep well i hope" "Morning spottedpelt, oh and i did" the light gray tom purred, grooming his fluffy fur. "Can you wake Swiftpaw for me! Its his first day" she meowed "Sure" and with that the apprentice disappeared into their den. Now all she had to do was wait for her apprentice to wake excitedly.

A BONE SHATTERS Fall Apart And Hit The Floor
Swiftpaw shifted in her nest, her mind lost in a world of nightmares. More and more, her feelings of unease had been causing her dreams to get worse and worse. Usually, her dreams involved her half siblings and step father, but this time, instead, she could see Dogstar standing over her, his vile smirk leaving a scar on Swiftpaw's soul. Not only that, but next to him was...
"Earthpaw," she muttered aloud.
"Not quite Swiftpaw," another voice chuckled in the background. Imediately, the apprentice shot up, her eyes wide in panic as her fur fluffed out to make her look like a sheep rather then a cat. Before her was Olivepaw, a fellow apprentice who tended to like to pick on her for feelings she was sure she didn't have. "Dreaming about Earthpaw again? It's a wonder he gets up at dawn or he'd be hearing you every night mumble his name!"
Swiftpaw flattened her ears against her head as she allowed herself to calm down and stare evenly at Olivepaw, "At least I don't wet my nest."
Olivepaw froze to one spot as Swiftpaw pushed passed with a smirk on her face. Laughing inwardly, she didn't even notice her mentor standing outside the apprentices den until she was directly in front of Spottedpelt. With a start, Swiftpaw leapt backwards, her eyes wide with shock. Two surprises in less then a few minutes. Today was sure to be one of those days....
Wasn't that great news on a day she was going to do battle training?
"Morning Spottedpelt. This will be our first day of training together!" Swiftpaw exclaimed excitedly. "I'm excited to get back on schedule! What's the plan for today?" Swiftpaw kept a smile on her face as she waited for Spottedpelt's answer, however, in her mind, she still mourned for the death of her former mentor, a friend of Wingedheart's who had stuck up for her after her brutal murder by Dogstar. Of course, in return, Dogstar granted her no mercy. Spottedpelt was assigned as her new mentor.
Was she the only one so uneasy about having him in charge? She glanced over at the leader's den, thankful that the warrior she dreaded was nowhere to be seen. Sunstorm, however, came storming out of the den moments later, hissing with disdain. Now, normally, Swiftpaw wouldn't pay the psycho medicine cat much attention, because she was just so... off... but...
This time she had a feeling she knew exactly why Sunstorm was upset. She also felt uncomfortable. Quickly, Swiftpaw turned her attention back towards Spottedpelt, shaking her head in an attempt to stay focused. "Sorry, I'm a bit groggy still."
IF IT DOESN'T THRILL YOU It Doesn't Matter Anymore
OOC: Swiftpaw is an older apprentice, so i made up the death of the mentor thing to clear any inconsistencies.

Lean on me;; When your not strong;;"Morning Spottedpelt. This will be our first day of training together!"
Spottedpelt purred lightly as her new apprentice nearly ran her over coming out of the apprentices den. Swiftpaw seemed excited, but slight confused as well. 'she just woke.. give her a break.' Spottedpelt thought to herself. "Morning Swiftpaw! sleep well i hope" she meowed calmly.
"I'm excited to get back on schedule! What's the plan for today?"
Spottedpelt was happy to tell her. She thought back to when she was on her first day of training as an apprentice, but then again this wasnt Swiftpaw's first day, just her first day with Spottedpelt. She remembered Swiftpaws previous mentor's death, it rung clearly in her mind. Spottedpelt knew she had to teach Swiftpaw the right way of a warrior life, even though she was a previous kittypet. She didnt want that standing in the way though, she was awaire of Dogstars actions, pretending to follow his ways to please him. But she wasnt as 'Happy go lucky' as Dogstar thought she was. She focused her attention back on her apprentice. "Well its good to know your excited as i am. I plan on teaching you some battle moves.." she hesitated before continueing, hoping that hinting about near future battles were a good idea. "You know for any.. near unplanned battles." she said keeping her voice strong. "so follow me and we will get started very soon. oh and on the way fill me in on what Songsky already taught you." she said, turning around, heading for the forest.
"Sorry, I'm a bit groggy still."
Spottedpelt nodded. "thats okay, you'll wake up as we get started" Spottedpelt said in a low voice noticing what Swiftpaw was looking, but she showed no sign of noticing Sunstorm.
And i'll be your friend;; I'll help carry on;;W O R D S 324 **i hope its okay but i just made up a name for Swiftpaws deceased mentor(Songsky) unless you already had a name, i can edit it.

((OOC: I'm cool with Songsky :3))
Swiftpaw felt all her sleepiness vanish as her new mentor brought up battle moves. A both excited and nervous chill rolled down the apprentice's spine. She needed battle practice, but Swiftpaw didn't miss the ominous hint in Spottedpelt's voice. So, she wasn't the only one uncomfortable with Dogstar's leadership. So far, that was two cats on her side. But one psycho medicine cat and warrior wasn't going to do much. Many cats' in the Clan seemed to be going about their days as if everything was fine, and Dogstar had been keeping things running... without the help of a deputy. Perhaps the warriors were only on good behavior so that they had a better chance of being chosen....
That would make sense, Swiftpaw reasoned as she followed her mentor towards the training spot. The entire walk was silent, except for a few exchanged words about what Swiftpaw knew and didn't know from her past experiences with Songsky. "Songsky was pretty content to let me develop my own style because she said I was too much of a perfectionist. I really don't think I'm that good to be honest. I think this is my weakest skill, so please, don't hold back in teaching me. I want to be a great warrior!"
Especially if that fight Spottedpelt suggested is really going to come. In any case, I can feel the winds of time changing. Something is going to happen soon... something bad....

Spottedpelt nodded, she understood the general idea. "Dont worry Swiftpaw you will be a great warrior when im done with you. Oh and i dont plan on holding back" Spottedpelt purred in amusement. she paused and looked at the training hollow and shook her head. "We wont be training there today." she meowed. Spottedpelt shot Swiftpaw a quick glance before continueing into ThunderClans oak forest. After traveling some distance, she stoped under a large tree. Spottedpelt knew that there shouldnt be any cats patroling or hunting around this area today. She turned around to face her apprentice and sat down. "The reason we are battle training in the forest is because when our clan cats go into a battle the place will look nothing like the hollow." She meowed hoping to sound wiser than what she really was. "You cant and wont know everything around you at any given time." she paused looking around. She wasnt sure if she could get in trouble for not battle training an apprentice in the hollow. "Now, im going to show you a few moves, then i want you to try them out" she said "So Attack me"
And i'll be your friend;; I'll help you carry on;;Words 271 **Sorry its kinda cruddy and short, my muse was a lil low today.

NO MATTER HOW MANY DEATHS THAT I DIE I WILL NEVER FORGET No Matter How Many Lives That I Live I Will Never Regret
"Okay, but I won't hold back Spottedpelt!" Swiftpaw exclaimed as she rushed forward. Thinking quickly, Swiftpaw decided that a quick frontal blow would be enough to get the practice started, and so, with claws sheathed, she cuffed her mentor on the ear playfully. "Come on, you shoulda seen that one coming!" she joked.
Swiftpaw bounced backwards, shifting her paws back and forth beneath her feet to keep her muscles warm. Because her back legs were so much longer then her front ones, she crouched back a bit as she danced around in front of her mentor ready to leap forward at any moment, "Alright, here I come for real!"
Finally, Swiftpaw used the weight on her back legs to propel herself forward, and she attempted to use that extra strength to knock over her mentor. Not a traditional move by any means, but since when was Swiftpaw a traditional apprentice? She was all about perfecting her own, strange style to fit her even stranger build, and even stranger yet... personality....
WHERE IS YOUR GOD, Where Is Your God? Where Is Your God...?

Lean on me When your not strongSpottedpelt watched Swiftpaw rush forward, Spottedpelt let a meow of laughter as her apprentice cuffed her over the ear. Spottedpelt gave her a small swipe back as she moved backwards.
"Come on, you shoulda seen that one coming!"
Spottedpelt huffed playfully. "Now Swiftpaw who said i didnt see it coming?" she meowed knowing full well that she really hadnt seen it coming.
"Alright, here I come for real!"
"Good give me all you got" Spottedpelt remained seated but tensed her muscles slightly as Swiftpaw bunched up for a spring. Spottedpelt narrowed her eyes at each small move her apprentice made, antisipating for anything that she may throw at her mentor. Spottedpelt saw Swiftpaw propel herself forward with her long back legs. But she saw a small weight shift in Swiftpaw. She easily side stepped the unusual move, and stuck out her paw hoping to hook her paw in Swiftpaws back legs, tripping her in mid air. Although Spottedpelt dodged the move easily, she did give Swiftpaw credit for coming up with that move. It wasnt something she had learned her self as an apprentice, not to mention she wouldnt have been able to dodge it if she hadnt noticed the weight thing. And i'll be your friend I'll help your carry onOOC:: Naw its okay, my muse is kinda low too, well for Spottedpelt. oh by the way spottedpelt wont dodge all of Swiftpaws moves, most likely just this one or two but not all because swiftpaw is already an older apprentice with more training experiance. kk so..

Suddenly, the apprentice found her move backfiring when Spottedpelt hooked her back legs. With a mrrow of surprise, Swiftpaw toppled onto her back, sending a cloud of dust to onto her fur. She lay there, shocked for a few moments, and then flipped herself around so she wouldn't feel so vulnerable.
"Aww, ya got me," Swiftpaw whined sarcastically. "That took my old mentor by surprise when I thought of it, but I guess you saw my weight shift. I've had to practice a lot given the odd shape of my frame... but oh well. Let's see what else I can do.... and feel free to keep fighting back! I need to practice my counters, clearly!"
The apprentice got to her feet once again, and immediately started her dance, shifting her weight quickly and unpredictably so that Spottedpelt would have a harder time figuring out her movement this time around. Finally, when she was ready, Swiftpaw bounced up, but this time, her paws were outstretched to latch onto her mentor's neck. Hopefully, if executed right, she would grab the warrior's neck, send them sprawling to the ground with Swiftpaw underneath, and then kick her back legs into Spottedpelt's most vulnerable spot: her neck and belly. Of course, this was all with claws sheathed. If this tactic was successful in a real fight, it would be pretty heavily damaging....
((OOC: up to you if it connects. >3. I was inspired by kittens doing this earlier today lol.))

Spottedpelt stepped aside, as she watched her apprentice fall with a omph. She had seen the shift in weight, using it to her advantage. "Always keep your eyes on your opponent." she purred "Dont worry, i plan to fight back" Spottedpelt growled playfully. She watched Swiftpaw get back to her feet and start to try again. She had to admit, she had a good apprentice on her paws, one that would do well in battles. Spottedpelt watched with easy, noticing every shift in weight, every movement. She eyed her like she would prey, watching every detail as if it were her last. 'she going to try it again' she thought, smiling.
Suddenly Swiftpaw sprang at her, but his time it was different. Before Spottedpelt knew it her apprentice had her neck in Swiftpaws paws, sending them softly fighting on the ground. Spottedpelt tried to get her back paws into Swiftpaws underbelly, but before she got the chance Swiftpaw kicked her in her belly, a fatal blow if claws had be unsheathed. Spottedpelt stood up, huffing and smiling. "That was great Swiftpaw, this time you used your weight shifts against me!" she purred happily. "I hope your previous mentor didnt teach you that, if so i have my work cut out for me." she meowed playfully.
And ill be your friend Ill help you carry on

Swiftpaw's ears burned with embarrassment as her mentor complemented her on her move, claiming she had her work cut out for her. The truth was, Swiftpaw and Songsky never quite saw eye to eye on many things. Swiftpaw was a perfectionist, practicing one thing at a time until she was sure it was mastered, and only using it then. Songsky had always said, "That's good enough! Let's move on already!" but the apprentice would always refuse.
"She taught me, but I put my own twist on it," Swiftpaw explained. "I don't do any battle tactics I don't think I'm good at, so maybe you should teach me something brand new. I need a new move to master... but uh...." she trailed off. "I'm terrible at them at first."
She flattened her ears to her head, self-conscious of her confession, "I think its the only reason I haven't been made into a Warrior yet. I'm too slow learning... but after I get it... I get it, yanno?"
