Paws clashed against his face and he grunted as he felt a sicky wet liqurd drip down his face. From what it looked like, she had taken a small patch of fur, and skin, from a spot just below his left eye. He blinked and brought a paw to his bleeding face as she spoke. She didn't like to be touched. He thought for a moment and took a deep breath about to tell her not to bother when he shut his trap. A medicine cat! Oh so they were much alike. Then he gave a weak smile, one that was rarely on his face, very very rarely. He had only smiled a few times in his life time, and with his bleeding wound and his mind buzzing with questions he just smiled. Like it all hit me perfectly for once. "Well Yellowthorn, if you become deputy, as you so wish to be, then I'll support you." He ran his fore-leg over his wound, seeing as it was itchy. STanding up he shook his pelt and sighed, taking on his blank expression. "What medicine cat? Ours or another clans?" He wasn't up to just guessing he wanted answers. "And please don't make me touch you, I rather keep some of my fur on today." He meowed, thinking, a little humor, even if it was bad, bad, bad, would make the equally hated she-cat a little happier.
Now his eyes wandered around and he stopped that weird smile and look back at the she-cat. "Plus, if I were to tell our medicine cat that you clawed me, he just say I was lying and that I just fell out of a tree again." He didn't like his clan's medicine cat that much, it was just that... well, what were the other circumstances? Oh now he wanted to know. His pelt lifted in slight excitment, and in slight anger. He was so frustated that he wanted to rip the she-cat before him in half for clawing him up. Then the other half was excited that he got 'some' information. Pay back. "Well since you told me you loved a medicine cat, I'll show you something in return." He climbed to his paws and trotted off into the woods. A few drops of blood onthe ground, but his wound had since stopped the heavy bleeding. "Come on lazy. You want to meet her don't you?" He just kept patting his nose flairing angrily.
(urge I hate this -.- it makes me so upset. ^^ Well since Thornmask is a pretty good guy *cough* he's just gonna take Yellowthorn to Brambleflower's grave ^^ ahahahha, and then he demands she tell him her love for de medicine cat =0 )

You Say It's Over, I Can Sigh Again...
Yellowthorn suddenly felt numb. This experience was overwhelming in so many ways, and astonishingly, she was somehow, connecting with the tom before her. It was an odd connection, yes, and Yellowthorn would still shudder if she even uttered the word 'friendship' to describe the relationship they had at the moment.
Idly, she followed Thornmask, her legs moving of their own accord. Nothing about this made sense. Why was she telling Thornmask all of this? Why was he taking her to god knows where? And why, great StarClan, why, was he so adamant about knowing who her love interest was? It was just too bizarre. Usually, Yellowthorn could read other cats as easily as she could track a mouse moving in the undergrowth, but this male... was too contradictory. Had Yellowthorn been mistaken when she saw the small, brief smile on his face when she mentioned that she loved a medicine cat?
Not only that, but he had attempted to make light of the situation, and even went as far as to say he would support her if she became deputy. In some strange way, Thornmask, even though she hated him as she did every other cat in her clan, was giving her hope. The flicker of light in Yellowthorn's heart suddenly brought her back up to reality, and she was then aware of where they were headed.
"Come on lazy. You want to meet her don't you?" Thornmask piped up, his nose flaring in distaste.
"Meet her?" Yellowthorn repeated. Hadn't he mentioned before that his mate was dead? In which case, that could only mean one thing... he was taking her to Brambleflower's grave. Lovely. Just what Yellowthorn needed. A dead body to mourn over. She could feel Thornmask crumble and rebuild emotionally throughout their entire conversation, and she was aware that she too was letting her guard down and then putting it back up in an erratic manor. She just didn't want to end up looking after a Warrior having a breakdown.
Because let's face it, if one more thing set her off, Yellowthorn would be in that position too....
And what good would two emotionally scarred Senior Warriors be for ShadowClan? No, if she let herself breakdown now, all her chances of becoming deputy would be shattered....

His paws became lighter. His face hardening in anger as he neared that place. "There." His voice was sharp, a kit would run from the clan in fear. "Ain't it a beautiful grave. It's where she belongs." He snapped. His ears flat against his head as he struggled to maintain his 'postive' mood. Oh screw that. 'I hate you Brambleflower... I hate you.' His thoughts screamed as he remembered that night. She wanted nothing to do with him until their kit was born. Yes a bitter sweet ending to a bitter sweet relationship. His eyes rolled and his empty laugh echoed in his own mouth. If it wasn't for the fact that he was with another cat, a she-cat at that, he would of already broke down and cryed about his life again. How he hated it, every single part of it. His father and his bloodthirsty ways. His mother and her to warm of a touch. And Brambleflower and her reason to play with his heart. Heatherpaw, she had done nothing. He should go get her and bring her to her rightful clan. Paws lifting, he stopped and grew wary for a moment. "No, I can't." His words to low for the she-cat across from him to hear him.

I Am Aware Now, How Everything's Gonna Be Fine. One Day, Too Late, I'm In Hell....
"There," Thornmask spat in a tone that would make most other cats cower. "Ain't it a beautiful grave? It's where she belongs." His snapping made Yellowthorn's ears twitch in irritation at best. He wasn't doing a very good job at keeping his emotions in check... not that Yellowthorn could blame him. If she was standing in front of her mate's grave, she might have been emotional too....
However, one thing did confuse her. The amount of disdain in Thornmask's voice surprised her. Didn't he love Brambleflower? No, she didn't know the whole story, clearly. Curiosity prickled at the edges of her fur, threatening to seep into her mind and break her facade. She wanted to know... she wanted to know....
"What in StarClan is wrong with me today?" she muttered under her breath at the same time Thornmask said something to himself. A small hiss of annoyance escaped the she-cat's maw as she once again took note of how similar they reacted to, well, ...everything. It was... "Too weird," she said aloud, this time with enough volume for Thornmask to hear. "I mean, why in the hell would we open up to each other? It's clear we don't like each other, but the irony is that we dislike each other so much because we are so very similar. Doesn't that usually compute to friendship? Nope, we're just a couple of hopeless warriors struggling to figure out what the hell their lives are worth... pathetic. Both of us. Not just you...." she trailed off, leaving her rant incomplete. She paused for a few moments, wondering if it was worth it to muster up the courage to finish what she had started. Admit her love of the one cat she could never have.... "I love Phantomriddle, after all. If that doesn't make me pathetic, I don't know what does."
For awhile, it stayed eerily silent, each cat lost within their own thoughts. The tension, however, seemed to finally lift from Yellowthorn's shoulders, though, she was not sure she could say the same of the tom next to her. She was... relieved, for some reason. Perhaps, the years of being told that she should talk to other cats really was advice worth using.
And yet....
Something still bothered her.
"Why do you hate her?" she blurted out. Immediately, her ears flattened against her head in embarrassment. She had almost asked with the enthusiasm a kit might have. This was not the time to act like she was only a few moons old. She was, after all, having a serious conversation now. No longer did she have any malice towards Thornmask, or at least, not at this moment... this was Yellowthorn after all. Any moment of kindness she showed was short-lived.
I Am Prepared Now Seems Everyone's Gonna Be Fine. One Day, Too Late, Just As Well....
OOC: I dunno about you, but it would be interesting if they had a bit of a "friendship" after this incident. Plus, it might create some kind of conflict for Thornmask and his future mate?

t.h.o.r.n.m.a.s.kFIVE.FOUR.SEVEN the good life thornmask & yellowthorn & brambleflower "Too weird," What was weird, that they both suffered something? I mean, why in the hell would we open up to each other? It's clear we don't like each other, but the irony is that we dislike each other so much because we are so very similar. Doesn't that usually compute to friendship? Nope, we're just a couple of hopeless warriors struggling to figure out what the hell their lives are worth... pathetic. Both of us. Not just you.... Thornmask nodded. He wasn't ready to speak. No, not yet. I love Phantomriddle, after all. If that doesn't make me pathetic, I don't know what does. Then there was the eerily silence. Thornmask was battling his emotions, keeping them in check and even letting his claws sink into the ground. If only... He sighed to himself and when he looked up. Why do you hate her.
[/s] Yellowthorn looked like an embarrassed kit, and that was what made Thornmask's sheild crack again, this time pain, pure pain, as if someone was ripping open piece by bloodly piece. The next emotion was anger and then finally sadness. His eyes widen as he remember THAT day. His eyes giving a look into his soul for once. A normal cat would of been frighten, but Thornmask, as he drifted into a memory, knew that Yellowthorn was no 'normal' kitty. - No Thornmask! I don't care." Her angered hiss making him shiver in both pain and delight. Bu-but Brambleflower... that's grea-[/color] He was cut off by her angry hiss. I don't want to be a traidor! Thornmask however blinked at her. He took a step back. Well then why did you contiune to meet me here huh? Thornmask stepped forward angry in his bones, his blood, his muscles everything. Why don't I just go and tell that daddy of yours who the father is![/b] He snapped. His anger coming forth through his usual blank. KNOW WHAT! Go ahead Thornmask, see if I can, I'll just say you forced me. Oh yes who are they, the clans, gonna believe. Me, the truthful one, or you, the depressed one who can't get over anything. IT O.V.E.R! She turned on her paws and trotted away tail held high.[/i] - Shaking his head he closed his eyes, sadness in them as he shook his head to clear of the memory. She's right... Getting to his feet he stretched and shook his head. I'm not ready to tell anyone why... I'm still searching for the answer myself. He bowed his head as he looked at his paws. For once he felt weaker. He just left his head hang and before he could do anything he blinked up at Yellowthorn. I-I-I don't know what to do, I gave up cause of it, now you Yellowthorn are trying to get a new path, take it and don't leae pity or... whatever you feel for any cat, just walk until your paws deem you dead.[/color] Then Thornmask trotted towards the brush. We need to get back to camp soon. Warstar I have a patrol later to take and I hate to be late. He sighed softly to himself. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

I Am Prepared Now For Myself...
Yellowthorn waited for the tom before her to respond, but for a while, he seemed lost in a distant memory, one that Yellowthorn wished she could witness to better understand him at that moment. It was rare for her to truly want to feel what another cat was feeling. Usually, she didn't give a damn, but everyone knew that by now....
Her ears flicked forward as Thornmask shifted, and uttered a few words about how he couldn't figure it out. He didn't know why... he, whether he wanted to admit it or not, still loved his former mate somewhere. Instead, Thornmask was hiding his hurt behind an intricate wall... one that would not break down for just anyone.
"I-I-I don't know what to do, I gave up cause of it, now you Yellowthorn are trying to get a new path, take it and don't leave pity or... whatever you feel for any cat, just walk until your paws deem you dead." he spoke up, breaking Yellowthorn's train of thoughts. He walked over to the bushes, not even bothering to gesture or look at her as he continued. "We need to get back to camp soon. Warstar I have a patrol later to take and I hate to be late."
Yellowthorn sighed just as Thornmask did, her head hanging down slightly, "If only I knew what path I was trying to take Thornmask... but isn't that the question everyone asks?" she paused, walking forward and putting a sympathetic tail on Thornmask's shoulder. "But I'm alive, and I'll be damned if I don't do something worthwhile while I am here. I guess... that's the only reason I've been able to push myself forward. I'm not saying it's the path for you, but Thornmask, keep this in mind. We put up walls to protect ourselves, but only a true friend is confident enough to break them down. I don't believe you're hopeless. You're a lot less hopeless then I am... just... start again...."
Yellowthorn trailed off, her tail falling off of Thornmask's flank. A shiver ran down her spine as she realized what she had just said. It was so unlike her to be so... soft. She had to fix that, "What are you looking at mousebrain! You'll be late for patrol! I'm gonna go out and do what I was actually out to do now...."
Without another word, Yellowthorn dashed away from the tom, not bothering to look back and see his reaction to her sudden display of kindness. Still, the she-cat couldn't help but think that this was different now. That after today, neither of them would be able to just give each other a cold stare and call it normal. No... Yellowthorn knew, somewhere deep within her, that they were now....
"Naw, friends isn't the right word. Maybe just... not at each others' throats... yeah!"
I Am Prepared Now, And I Am Fine... Again...
